I have decided to replace my not-so-hot Kurt ride with a Zildjian 21" Sweet Ride, and was wondering if anyone could help me figure out which crash might complement this? I currently have a 16" AA medium thin, and I like it just fine, but I suspect I'll have some discord between the two. Does anyone in here have the ride I'm getting, and what is your favorite crash to go with it? (At this point, I really only have the funds for one crash, one splash, and one ride.) Thanks in advance. :thumb:

Might I suggest a 19" A Custom crash.

I love my A sweet ride, it's probably my favorite cymbal of all time.
just about any A custom crash will do you well in conjunction with it.

Actually, I suggest regular As. A regular A thin or medium 19" crash would be great.
My second ride is going to be a 21" A Sweet Ride, I think. They are very nice and versitile.

would a A sweet ride sound good with a Sabian AAXplosian crash?

I'm thinkign about getting a sweet ride as secondy ride myself, they have amazing crash capabilities. It's probably the best crash/ride on the market IMO.

oh yeah. just ask travis barker.
(ahh, don't hurt me!)
and i think AA's and Avedis's would work quite well

I didn't buy it yet (grown-ups in my house wait until after Christmas) but it's $199.

A's or A Customs, then? I'll start checking those out. I didn't really expect to be getting a new crash any time soon, as for awhile my crash was the only cymbal I owned that I liked. But yeah, I'm fairly certain it wouldn't mix right with that sweet thing, and I'm kind of all about the ride, ya know? I wonder how long it'll be before I decide I need a new pair of hats...

don't set your mind on zildjians. you can get better sounds (sounds you're looker for i mean) from other brands too!:thumb:
Go to the shop and listen what sounds best with the ride.

Another note worthy of mentioning is that you can have 2 21" Avedis Zildjian Sweet Rides in the same room, with the same stick and same arm, but only one that sounds good to oneself...

A Custom Medium would sound great with the Sweet Ride.

Right on. I'm not stuck on Zildjian at all. I'm up for all suggestions. The thing is, I know I can't take my ride with me to the store to compare. I wonder.... I really like the one I played yesterday; how different could another one be...? Man, I should just go get that one right now.

well thats just not true...you can go left, right, straight, backwards...you don't have to go right to the zildjian factory...

i'd go with an 18" Vault if you can afford it. You have a nice 16" there, but you'll need some grunt for your second if you have a crashable ride.
