I could care less about what song he plays, but this is what bothered me:
Off timing!
Bad tone.
Inconsistent volume.
I hope he is practicing.

I think my favorite part was how he ended it all sassy like. Like he just owned Getty Lee in a bass off. Not to mention that he was making it much more dificult than it had to be.

On the same lines as FunkMetalBass, the song itself isn't what got me. It's very possible to play that song and make it sound good. Good musicians can make one note sound good. The song is not what you should be looking at here.
However, the video sucked because of the guys technique/skill (skill is just the application of technique, and the tone was horrible because of his damn slides) as well as his musical mindset and talent (more along the lines of being in time, and what the heck was that click in the background?).

or it could be that he just got his bass two days ago and this is the first complete song he has learned to play:smash:

Anyone remember Rollo's version of Seven Nation Army from a while back? He made that sound sound pretty rad.
joe
I don't get why everyone plays that line on one string. It can be made so much easier, and it sounds better played on the E and A strings, too.

Remember when I posted that tab on MX?
Shame it got taken off. On the plus side, since tab sites seem to steal from one-another, it is still circulating around the internet.

What a dork!!! His "I'm all that" attitude cracks me up! He needs to learn how to play on all the strings. He is going to wear himself out running up and down the fretboard like that!:amaze:

Is it really necessary to make a whole thread just to make fun of the kid? I mean, no one will deny the fact that he lacks skill, but does it really make you guys feel that much better to make fun of him on an internet forum? Who knows, maybe someday the kid could become pretty good if he keeps practicing. He's probably just a beginner. I know that there used to be a time when I was pretty happy with myself being able to play songs like that. I'm sure many of you were the same way too.

Thank you, I wasn't impressed until about thirty-six seconds into the song. That was a really nice rendition.

No, it isn't necessary. However, anyone who posts a video of themsleves doing anything is automatically opening themsleves up to critique/critisizm!

Yea he does suck. But to someone who can't play guitar he may be awsome. To you guys that are alot better than me [everyone] remember there are people better than you that will think YOU suck. I play better than this guy but Im afriad if I ever did post up something I played there would be nothing buy negative from everyone. The only reason I don't like this guy is because of his "im a bad ***" attitude
BTW the tapping sounded like his friend trying to make a drumline.

I like to play it the normal way with a sub-octave effect, so you get both octaves.

Do you play both octaves at once? I just the effect.
