ok so hopefully im no stranger to you guys anymore, although ive been lacking the time to post here every day. But anyways After a year and a half of being self taught I decided to seek guidance with lessons, point out bad habbits and get down to some usefil tips and theory. But ofcourse we started with technique. And finger plucking. And he wants me to do 4 excercises.

i,i,i,i
i,m,i,m (obviously can do these)
i,m,r
i,p,r,m

now i can do everything except the 3rd. The Index Middle and Ring I can do it ok but nothing like a ridiculous amount of notes per second Im having trouble getting it all on one string Cause Ive tried using each of the different ringers on a seperate string and Ive gotten that down pretty fast but on the same string this excercise is giving me trouble.

Hopefully your with me so far? because in regards to Index middle and Ring. I can do it reverse, Ring Middle and Index just like the others. Now this does not mean im not going to practice IMR instead of what i can do easier and more efficient RMI. But Im just wondering if its possible that the way my hand is (Cause I feel a pulling when I go to include the ring finger in) like not up for it for ridiculous speeds.

if theres a difference amonst IMR and RMI what is it? do you think my teacher would be pissed off or something? thx to any feedback, hopefully you understand.

yeeeah the most common 3 finger ir RMI. this is how billy sheehan does it and also steve bailey , but steve bailey has a few other ways to do it that he also reccomends you try.

steve goes in patterns of 4 his patterns are:

r m i m

m i m r

i m r m

i know im forgetting a few, check his website he has some excerizes on there for people working on 3 finger technique.
