Ok, I just broke a part of my friend's bass, and I need help covering it up.
I have the material to fill the bass, but what type of paint should I use? It's a black Ibanez GSR200

lol. Does he know? You would have to paint the entire bass to make it look good... you know this right?
If it was me... I would use PPG's DBC basecoat black and a compatible clear on top. But then again, I'm a painter and you're not.

I have no painting experience, I am just posting to satisfy my own curiosity.
What part of a bass can you break, and repair with paint? I for one would like to see some pics. and yeah, did you tell your friend?

Well, it's not entirely broken.
I had his bass on my back, like straped and everything. But suddenly, the strap came loose on the lower part of the bass (Which would be in my shoulder) and it fell all the way down to the floor tiles. I managed to save the upper part... but well... you take a look.

you should just tell him then offer to paint it for him. take everything off, including the neck and bridge, sand down all the paint but dont reshape the wood, clean all the dust off, primer it, paint it black a few coats, clear it many times. oh, tape everything off before you start to paint
