I'll definitely try, but seeing as I have a major gear purchase (still) looming on the horizon, I may not be able to...
Tryxx
12-14-2005, 12:50 PM
I should be, told my mom about it. I'd be going alone this year, so it should be cool. The only reason I won't be is if I take summer classes.
I am going, pretty much for sure.
I hope Gav will let me stay with him...

I'm pretty sure Gav is wanting to stay at the dorms this year.

I'd like to, but I don't think I'll be able to get together enough money for it.
770 USD, plus any money to do other stuff... just a wee bit expensive.

I will attempt to go. Now that I have a job, I can start saving for trips such as that. Hopefully I will have a GT-7 by then too, instead of my Brice.

It's unbelievably weird that I also have a brice 6 string right now, and I just got a job, and I got a job to get a GT-7 and go to basslines.

Actually, I'm debating selling my brice. I'm also debating whether or not to get a 7-string.
By the way, to those of you who've gone, how many basses do you bring?

I only brought one. You NEED a gigbag; don't even try to tough it out with a hardshell.

Could I bring both? Hardshell for the flight out and gigbag for carrying the bass around town?

im bringing a hardcase. as long as it doesnt rain you should be ok. i mean its going to take some timing on your part if you dont want to drag it around with you. like you have to eat and have enough time calculated in to go back up to the room and grab your bass
HaVIC5
12-15-2005, 07:14 AM
I don't know if I want to pay for it. By then, I will already have gotten into the school (or not).
But I'm still tempted if not for the bassing, for the MXers.
Left Shoe
12-15-2005, 07:18 AM
in all truth havic, you know way more theory and things about bass than i do, and i didnt learn anything form the actual basslines program while i was there (except that bass players cant read music, and those that do cant read treble clef), everything i learned was from hanging with the kids from mx.

If there's any way I can make it, I will. It's not terribly likely, though. I'm probably going to procrastinate about it until it's over, like last year.
Wintermute
12-15-2005, 07:35 AM
It's quite a short session, for the price...
Obviously I'm on entirely the wrong continent to go, and transatlantic flights cost an arm and two legs. But next year I just might be able to go. I'll have to wait and see how life pans out. :)
FunkMetalBass
12-15-2005, 07:47 AM
HaVIC, I'm the same. I would be going to chill with the other MXicans, not so much anything else (a week off work sounds good though).
Howabout we just all get together and hang the **** out? Screw basslines, let's just get together, and jam.
Maybe get some weed? I don't know, pure speculation.

12-15-2005, 08:48 AM
sade weve already had that in the plans for awhile =P
Aye aye, captain.
Bring alot. I mean alot alot. I mean, I'll do practically all of it on my own.
See, that's a bummer about living alone, and being completely broke. Your money goes towards stupid crap like your education, and your health insurance.

Aye, it's worth it I reckon. I'm going to bring my loop pedal, so we can pretend Cil and Gabriel are there as well.

Between weed and munchie food, we'd pay more than basslines.
Especially if Gav and Phil showed up, freaking stoners

I mean seriously sade, weed everywhere else is unbelievably expensive. Members in the casual are like "I got a gram of some ok **** for 30 bucks, dude I love my connections!"
When I was paying 25bucks a G for some firey *** KB, two hits and bye bye bye.
Ahh darn it, weed is too expensive. I'm a leech.

Im going. Even though im a poor drummer, and dont even play the bass.
(that makes alot of sence)
hey guys, wouldnt it be cool to have a drum/bass forum meeting, somewhere huge, and just jam out and smoke weed.
The guitarists can have thier own party with the vocalists, in a house of mirrors!

I figure...how many days is basslines? Between 20 mxers yall would need about a ounce a day atleast. An ounce around here would run maybe $60 or $70 of fairly decent **** if you really wanted to spend that much, but everywhere else...ugh....I dont wanna think about it...
I say just make gav and phil bring their ****, they're in boston no?
And make danny bring some of his purple cream
Ill bring the harder stuff
Yah, Irish knows his weed.

This is a fact. Those that went should remember that I carried my bass on my back, since I didn't have a hard case. I might do it again, that was easy enough... A gig bag would have been nice though.
Matt and I actually got into an argument over Kronic and Swag, accidently... It was funny. I called references to vouch for my pot knowledge.

I'm liking Sade's idea a bit better. I think we need someone who lives in like Western New York or Ohio to have an mx party of some sort. Hanging out, playing bass, etc.

$10 is a lot for a gram? People sell it to make a profit, not lose money.
5 X 28 = $140
An ounce of decent pot will surely cost more than $140.
And the stuff I get is probably way better than the stuff you get in smelly Louisiana. :D

I don't smoke pot. Tried it several times, didn't like it, but I have to hand it to my friend. He made a bong out of a Sobe bottle. Somehow he broke a hole towards the bottom, made a carb with the cap and what he does is he fills the bottle with water, puts on the Sobe cap, lights the weed and lets the smoke take the place of the water and then hits it. It's a big it and it works well it seems.
