...NJ post-hardcore, punk pop, indie, experimental mix with keys, two guitars, and the rest.

I'd appreciate a listen, let me know what you think. Thanks.

Hey, I only listened to Sandra's SO Serious. Here's what I think:

Your music is really good and great but I'm not sure about the vocals. The music is too loud, you can't hear what the guy is singing ;so the lyrics were really unclear. Other than that, the tune wasn't that catchy either especially when you can't hear the vocals.....

obviously apart from the usual mixing and recording issues, a few points...

Personally i feel that with the style your playing - the harmonies between the guitar and the keys don't work that well - id have them both following the same chord progression more closely. Similarly the mixture of rhythyms in each part is nice - but in the more "punk" influenced parts of song i think this needs to be simplied a bit

Secondly i think that the song changes too much too quickly.... i can hear the mars volta influence comming in there - but for a track to change that much i think you've really got to draw it out more - listen to their tracks each section is much longer and develops much more before the texture changes.

And the vocals could really do with a lot more expression and a little more development music wise.

But saying that - there are moments in those tracks which are excellent - and overall its great - its just those few areas which need sorting out to make the song even better, and so they don't "let down" the best parts.

It was pretty good for the most part, one thing I noticed though was that the songs were really depending on the guitars too much and there wasnt enough emphasis on other instruments for me, The vocals were good, but could get better.

Wow, thank you everyone for your input. It helps.

I read all of them and considered everything. We know where we're going musically now and we'll have new music up soon.

Thanks

The keyboard and guitar not playing the same thing becomes really annoying, I'd only suggest you have the keys play something different when the guitar is just doing some steady chords. It didn't seem there was a bass, drums fit, vocals were really hard to distinguish. Also when the song changes, it doesn't flow to well, especially when that..screaming? part comes in.
