Now, anyways, what do you think is better for a medium tom? Amb/Amb or Emp/Amb. I just got mine fixed up and have Hydraulic/Amb (I got the tom with the hydraulic already on it). Right now it sounds deader than a doornail, it's got no resonance... overall absolutely sucky.
:amaze:
Or is there another combo I should go for?

I've never really liked coated heads on toms...
I got a clear head over a coated one on my high tom right now (don't know what, came with my kit), sounds decent when I strike the clear head but... well... don't like what it sounds like when I hit the coated head.

Okay, thanks for the help everyone. I think I'm just gonna have to flip a coin to see if I go with an amb or an emp now.

*flips coin*
I guess I'm going with an amb.
