What do you think the most energetic scene at a show has been, like good skanking, stage diving, circle pits, that kind of energetic movement?

Skanking is fun. Circle pits are lame. Stage diving is lame as hell.

Skanking is awesome, hardcore dancing I find amusing - although it's energetic
At the last ska concert I went to I was having a great time skanking in a circle with one of my best friends, some cool guy I met at the show, and the singer of a good local ska band I'd been listening to for years. What a great experience it was.
Today I was actually remaniscing with one of my friends about good local shows I went to. I just remember this one band had a singer bassist who played really well and really fast. At one point the strap broke on his bass but he still kept jumping around like crazy. It was quite an experience.
I have some memorable show moments, but I don't really think this is really the point of the thread.

Yeah, the question is kind of strange.
But I like skanking and circle pits, personally. I find stage diving and hardcore dancing annoying.

How could anyone find stage diving annoying?

Stage diving is only annoying when dicks (http://www.nothingnice.com/comics/20051104.jpg) do it. Otherewise it's not a proper show without some good stagediving and crowd surfing.

I always help people up and support them but if someone stage dives every song it's annoying. But people who don't like stage diving full stop are just as big dicks.
At Streetlight Manifesto it was full of preppy twats and I was the only person holding up anyone who crowd surfed.

Yeah, I get tired of people who just let you hit the floor (which has happened to me a few times).

I get tired of people jumping on top of me or kicking me in the head while I'm trying to have fun.
Basically, most stage divers are dicks here.
My favourite thing is singing along, but there are only a few bands I see that I can do that with. Circle Pits can be good, but a lot of the time only a few people end up doing it and that sucks.

I've never actually crowd surfed. I've had people start to lift me up, but I keep my money in my shoe at shows, and wasn't about to risk having it fall out.
I like skanking. I like circle pits. Hardcored dancers are hilarious. Especially with the flailing of their arms in big circles.

Headwalking is fun too. If you're really having that much fun a few kicks shouldn't bother you with all of that adreneline.

I think my favorite crowd ever was at the last Warped Tour when people started throwing **** at Thrice because DKM were playing on the adjacent stage and were waiting for Thrice to stop.

We booed the used off stage at warped tour two years ago so Flogging Molly would finally be able to play.

In '04, Flogging Molly started playing right when I had gotten there. It was great. I was 100 feet away, and heard them start to play Drunken Lullabies and just ran my way through the crowd.

Stage diving can be annoying. One time a drunk guy tried stage diving with a very loose crowd of probably less than 50 people, he landed on me, and me only. I helped him up nonetheless
When I saw mustard plug the first time (at an indoor venue) their was no barricade between the stage and the people, so people were surfing and then stage diving. Apparently someone got injured at a show at that venue a little while later, so now you can't do that. I kind of enjoy crowd surfing, but I feel bad when I accidentally kick tall people in the head. Then again, the tall people accidentally elbow me in the face, so it's even.

Skanking and Circle Pits.
I kinda got turned off to stage diving/crowd surfing after the first time I saw the Suicide Machines there were these skinheads who kept crowd surfing and kicking me in the head with their docs. After that I can only crowd surf if I'm wearing sneakers, otherwise I feel bad.
Crowd surfers don't piss me off half as much as people who treat them poorly. I one time had this guy grab my back and pinch into it as hard as he could, and wouldn't stop, and another guy who kept trying to push me up into a vent hanging out of the ceiling. That's douchey.

Stage dives are fun, I remember when I went to Strike Anywhere, there was only one guy doing it like three times a song. That got annoying real fast.

Like when Ciaran jumps on my head at CRS7 shows :)
Anyway, easily the best and most energetic scenes are seen at Lightyear shows.

This man does not lie :chug:
Skanking is the most fun you can have at a show I always think.
As for stage diving, I'll agree its only irritating when it happens constantly, and that usually tends to be some prick who just can't relax and let the crowd carry him when he's on top of em. The same goes for crowd surfers.
When I crowd surf, I have the sense to zip all my pockets, be sure my shoes are on right and just lie back, spread out and go limp. That way I don't get robbed :D

Skanking. Occasionally, the circle pits are pretty good, but most of the time there's a small pit that consists of all five people who went to the show.

Moshing is good when people are up for it, typical someone has to play instigator with the others who look like they're twitching to the songs. Circle pits only happen when bands from Tacoma come down and their fans follow, they're more metal than punk and you'll get punched if you're not in their "crew". And other than some little asses doing hardcore dancing to the few powerviolence bands here it's all moshing unless the crowd is holding their asses too tight to move.
Jessizzle

I dont enjoy it as much when punks like to mosh to ska songs. It kinda ruins the whole fun of skanking.

Seriously though. I've never been to a show where people make fun of one person who they don't know. There are plenty of kids at shows that us "scenesters" don't know, but would never make fun of them because they look like a prep. Thats the dumbest thing ever.

Stage dives rule. If I could stage dive 15 times a song I would. People who don't catch stage divers are ****ing gay. People who get pissed when they get dove on are ridiculous.
Crowd surfing is gay. Trying to hurt crowd surfers is gayer.
People who skank but think hardcore dancing is stupid are stupid.
Circle pits are always the best.

Prep: Comes from identifiying one who goes to a prepratory or "prep" school, or a school with the intent of preparing its students for college.
