Anyone care about this? My friend has a huge problem with people doing this, but it doesn't really bother me.

Nah. I have a P99 shirt and I never saw them.

Not many bands come through my area, and when they actually do, I normally don't have very much cash. So I order alot of my shirts and stuff. I don't really care what people wear.
I don't care as long as they're not wearing it to be fashionable.
BuddyBigsby

It bugs me more when kids buy shirts having never heard the band, or only knowing one or two songs. I mean at least they're supporting the band but still.

I buy shirts of bands that arent around anymore from the internet and i go to shows or make them to get tee-shirts of current bands

It is not that big of a deal since bands can't go through all areas where they have fans. Tell your friend to calm down.

I see no problem with it as long as the people wearing it know and listen to the band. Why should one only be "credible" when he/she buys the shirt at a show of the band in question?

I've worn shirts of bands I've never seen. I look at buying band shirts as nothing more than supporting a group that you like. Besides, what about great bands that should be promoted after they broke up?
It's difficult to see someone getting upset over this.

^ Yeah, but once this whole macho hXc fad goes away, my local scene will die, because everyone here is a ****ing fashioncore kid.
Yeah, I try to buy from bands official sites if they have them, or from their Myspace's and stuff, but sometimes you have to go through their label or through dealers. Some money gets back to them though, so it's still better than not buying anything. I don't buy stuff second hand though, and I try not to buy stuff from real popular groups(sometimes I can't resist though), since the cash wouldn't mean as much to them.

This has nothing to do with scene kids, so keep it out of here. I'm implying that when my friend sees someone with a Judge shirt, he says "he shouldn't be wearing that, he never saw Judge."

12-13-2005, 02:56 PM
That is ****ing retarded, how many people have Black Flag shirts and I know that a shitload of them havn't seen them. I used to have a Bad Brains shirt but I never saw them because it was before me, so to say well you shouldn't wear a shirt because you havn't seem them is ill logical and completely stupid for the hardcore scene since alot of bands stick it out only a few years.

That is a retarded attitude. How can you not care about people wearing shirts that they've never seen, but get upset because you THINK you know more about the band, and THINK that they're only doing it for fashion? What makes you think that you're the only one who will actually listen to a band when they are introduced to you? **** you.

As to the thread topic, I own a few band's shirts I've never seen live...but I love their music anyways so why would it matter? Most the ones I own are from shows I saw though.

If it says STRAIGHTEDGE on it or has the whole XXX thing going on, it seems a little silly. I wouldn't wear it personally.
On the original topic though, I've pretty much stopped buying cd's, so I try and get merch or see the bands to support the ones I like. So basically all my tshirts are band ones. I'd rather get one live but it really dosn't matter either way to me.
