Hey all,
having finally saved up enough for a shiny new sonor 3005 and a set of sabian AAx, I've changed my mind; I'm thinking of getting some kind of rack setup with an undrilled bass drum. Any thoughts/recommendations appreciated.

Do whatever you like. I don't like racks, but I do like undrilled bassdrums :p

Its called a Virgin bass drum, look into a small custom company. Like Kirsch drums.

I doubt you find a virgin bass drum that is cheap.... + racks are useless unless you're extremely tight on space or you unless you move ALOT....
Just get the 3005 with an extra tom and get Wuhans instead....
If your ordering through internet, go to Massmusic.net!!!

You dont need a rack. Clamp your toms to a cymbal/tom stand :)

Umm not much....
The sound projection is much better indeed but pure sound, Wuhan takes most of it....
