Ok, so I have an extremely crappy drumset. Sound percussion? And the 1st floor tom is a pearl forum tom. So don't burn me please. I tuned them to where they sound pretty ok. They are 12, 13, and the two floor toms are the exact same size (14's).... and yes that just might be the most stupid thing you've ever heard. But, I have one tuned lower with diff. heads so there is a pitch difference.

The cymbals are a 16" zxt china, 10" 502 paiste splash, 14" b8 hats, 16 AAX studio crash, 18" HHX studio crash, and a 20" 302 paiste ride.

I also have a Rythm Tech cowbell.

Please play nice.

Now for the pics.

So much tape :(

I like the setup though, looks fun and similar to something I'd do with it.

my thoughts exactly. At first I thought it was another lame rockstar-style joke, but then i realized this guy has been here for a very brief time, and is probably serious.

Anyway, I like the crash choices. However, the tape on your drums needs to go. The dead sound you're trying to reach by taping them up sounds terrible. Take the tape off, get a drum key, and start tuning. One day, you'll be glad you did.

Just think about it, have you ever seen any respectable drummer play with his drumset mutilated by tape and overmuffling?

Funny how your two crashes destroy everything else on your kit

Looks good though :thumb: Just lose that tape. No matter how you tune them drums up, that tape will just cause them to go straight to hell :p

Nobody will rip you for playing on bad gear, or at least they shouldn't. I have more respect for someone who really loves to play and hacks it out on bad gear until they get good and earn better gear than some little rich kid who can't play and has a 9 peice DW as his first kit....

Nuff said really. I plan to keep my first kit forever :)

Nice setup, cool cymbals, lose the tape. You'll go to hell for the tape

Just get some o rings or something instead of tape. that china's dented. was thinkin about gettin a zxt but not so sure now, you should turn it the other side up!

Just get some o rings or something instead of tape.

Better yet, tune the drums

Tuning them properly should eliminate the 'need' for tape, or muffling.

Try taking the tape off your kit and flipping your china upside down. Other than that, sweet crashes :thumb:

Nice set up. Man I dont know how you play with those dip sticks though. I tried them before and they gave me huge blisters where the thumb and index finger touch the stick.

I agree with you, half hearted tho. I've seen plenty of respectable drummers use tape especially back in the old days haha. I myself do not (maybe a moon gel here or there) but yea thats just overkill on the tape. It reminds me of when I was in 7th grade and I went to camp and this dude straight out of Africa explained the origin of the drum and had us make drums out of coffee cans and a **** load of tape for heads. Over all not bad at all tho man keep playin, its not so much the gear that matters as it is the player.

TOO MUCH TAPE! Other than that, it doesn't matter how crapy ur kit is, is works and you can play you should be happy. Nice HHX and AAX Cymbals
