View Full Version : Expressing a mood...
Plan B.

So I'd been feeling like shyte for like a week straight, everything was gay, haha, so I decided to drum it out. I had the camera again and I recorded my playing, but it was too large a file for video, and it was easier to make it an audio file. I think it gives it a cooler touch too.
I put this up for anyone who wanted to listen, you can critique it if you want, but should probably know I don't really care because I didn't record it to show any technical skill.
(It's only up for a certain amount of time, it took me so long to find a host that worked)
It's like 15 minutes long too, haha.

Oh man Plan B, im at school and I can't listen to this till I get home. The suspense is killing me! ITS HUGE!
But yeah, do you still have the video? If you do, can you PLEASE upload it to Google Video. Your drumming is so awesome and full of pocket grooving, and videos are alot better because I like to watch and copy your stuff.

Here's an old thread with some pictures of the kit, and how I had it set up at the time. I don't think the cymbal set up was the same though, the HHX was probably a Vault, and there was also a big A Custom Projection crash on the right.
British Boy I'll see if I can shrink the video in MovieMaker and try and host it on Google Video. I can guarantee anything though, I had a hell of a time just finding a working host for the audio.

Sorry for the bump, but I finally got to listen to it, and I really liked it. There was some really neat stuff goin on at many different moments. I like the funky grooves. That cowbell was definately one of the highlights. And I enjoyed some of the "tom-tom-tom-kick" licks (not sure if you know what I'm talking about). How long have you been playing?

That was amazing, very clean and lots of funky stuff. Was the audio just taken from the camcorder? cos thats quite good quality.

sounds good man !! liking that snare alot
what's the specs on the cymbals?
Plan B.
12-19-2005, 06:22 PM
Alright, I think I have the video being veryfied on Google Video now...
Snare is a 14x5.5 Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute w/ Nouveau lugs. It has a Genera w/ internal muffling ring on the batter.
Play about 5 years.
Cymbals were 20 K Custom Dry Light, 18 Paiste Full and a 18 HHX Stage with 14 Stages and a 16 AAX China.

Verifying on google takes ridiculously long.

That bit reminded me of the guitar riff from "Metallica - I Disappear". It's got that drawn out triplet feel to it (his bass drum hits for two bars after 14:50 match up to this).
Plan B.
12-22-2005, 02:52 PM
Ok so Google Video finally verifyed and the video is now up.
The quality is shot to hell because I had to compress it huge, so some of the audio quality goes down too, but whatever.

Heh, very nice. I like the fact that it wasn't planned or anything, just a jam to lay some stuff down. I really like your snare drum sound as well.

I've been meaning to ask... what mood were you in?
Go-Go Gadget mad drumming skills?
Plan B.
05-01-2006, 05:25 PM
I don't play with anyone at the moment. I want to so bad, it's really fun.
And yeah I was listeing to a lot of Fall of Troy when I recorded it last year, so it went super well with like a frantic, angry way of playing. But at times it's like really not heavy and fast.
Haha, I don't remember exactly what mood it was, but it was before Christmas and without getting into details, everything seemed to be leading up to this horrible event (jan. 7th) and it totally sucked hard. It was probably one of the worst times in my life, haha.

WOW. Snare drum. Awesome.
Love the playing.
You sound a lot like one of my very favorite drummers, Damon Che of Don Caballero...who you probably haven't even heard, lol.
