What's a pretty solid snare basket? I've been looking around, but I can't really tell what's good and what's not, they all look relatively the same. Doesn't need to be insanely expensive like those DW baskets, but something that's good none the less. Maybe around $50 new? This will be replacing the ludwig basket that's currently holding my starclassic snare

I take it you just mean a basic snare stand. I've got one of those, "insanely expensive" DW snare stands, the 5500. It's great and could hold a freaking elephant, but it was rather pricey...like $90 bucks  Worth it though. Nothing beats quality hardware

i have to agree.

dispite your $50 limitation i still have to suggest a Gibraltar, DW, Yamaha or a Sonor snare stand. if youre a TAMA guy you might also wanna look into vintage (used) Titan or Spartan snare stands.

DW 9000 man (the 9300 to be exact). It will put ANY snare drum ANYwhere you want it to go at ANY angle. It looks great, it's rock solid, and the features + memory locks can't be beat. Plan to leave this stand in your will if you don't sell it.

Retail is around $109.99 USD but most Guitar Centers will let them go for $95 + out the door.

^Yeah DW's snare stands are AWESOME. Mine doesn't have as many adjustment options as the 9300, but it's still amazing in it's own right. DW definitely gets my vote, even though you might want something cheaper.

why dont u get the 9300? its not like a head/stick or even a cymbal, theres no need to replace it at all unless u ran over it, and even then u probably just damaged ur car instead

If you can't afford a dw....go for a Tama....they make really strong hardware.

^^^ Cause we all know Tama is "the strongest name in drums"...

I had a Road Pro boom and snare stand once. It really did not impress me.

Of course DW make tank hardware, but don't overlook PDP. The quality is excellent, and they are very solid.
