Quicksand is amazing.

Civ is better than Gorilla Biscuits, I agree.

Haven't heard the other bands except Youth of Today.

Quicksand is amazing.

I downloaded Slip a little while ago, but I have yet to listen to it.

Tyler
12-12-2005, 07:15 PM
Might take a few listens to get into it but it is a truly great album.

Shelter is horrible. I just checked them out last night. I love Civ right now though.

Tyler
12-12-2005, 07:48 PM
What did you listen to?

One Step Beyond
12-12-2005, 07:51 PM
I downloaded the album "Mantra" and only listened to about two tracks before switching i to something better. I wouldn't even call them hardcore, more like a numetal wannabe.

I think I'm the only one here who likes Mantra.

One Step Beyond
12-12-2005, 07:54 PM
So they have better stuff?

Tyler
12-12-2005, 07:54 PM
Yeah, Mantra is their worst album (I haven't heard all of it though), they went nu-metal/poppy/ska for a couple albums. Try 'Quest for Certainty' or 'When 20 Summers Pass'.

Even though I love all those bands, I disagree with you completely. To each his own.

Also, it's sorta like comparing apples and oranges because they are not all hardcore bands.

If you said YoT > Judge or something like that, I'd agree with you.

Tyler
12-12-2005, 08:13 PM
A while ago I would have smacked myself for saying this.

and I'm just comparing them cause CIV, Shelter and Quicksand are the bands YOT and GB basically evolved into.

Yeah, fair enough.

Let's devote a thread to how Judge is overrated.

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS

Judge is so f.ucking boring.

The best edge NYHC bands are YoT, Bold, and GB.

One Step Beyond
12-12-2005, 08:24 PM
I've never heard Judge, but there was a time that you guys wouldn't shut up about them.

One of the most underrated NYHC albums is Bold's Looking Back. I suggest you guys give it a listen.

I downloaded Looking Back by Bold a few weeks ago. Awesome album.

Gorilla Biscuits and Youth of Today are great too.

I'm working on downloading stuff from Civ, Quicksand, and Shelter now.

GB is my favourite out of most bands mentioned here, YOT are alright. Underdog has some great songs, and some bad ones. They have one song, "Friends like them", I think, that is amazing.

I don't really like Quicksand at all.

Shelter weren't very good.

Quicksand ruled hard.

Civ are easily better than GB and YoT.
