So as you all know the holidays are coming up soon. I want to ask for a cowbell since i know they are fairly cheap. whats a good one in the price range of $20-$40?
I was looking into the meinl hammered ones. they look nice but they also need to sound nice too. Im going to try some out next time I go to the place I owned the dumbass worker in drums in(guitarcenter).Itll be easier if i have a clue of what to try out before i go in though. suggestions? im either gonna get LP or Meinl ones.

Well i have a stagg, pearl and meinl steel one. The best sounding by far is the stagg and that was way cheap. If they have those try them. Meinl ones sound incredible too

LP is classic and perfect for all your applications for it

I really like the hand hammered Meinl one.

EDIT: I also like Plan B's cowbell. It's a.....Samba bell?

I have a hand hammered Meinl steel one, and it sounds great (and very, very, loud)

I got it because it was the only one the shop had on the day I decided to get one and I got a hefty discount.
Couldn't say how it compares with others but it is welded all the way along the seam, and the two sides are butt jointed rather than one inside the other and spot welded, which makes it a lot stronger than most.
Seems like it will last forever.

I had mine one the bass hoop, but now I sit higher so it needs a new home. Right now its to the left, above my aux snare, but I want it to go to the right above my floor tom.

Got an LP 'Lil ridge rider; sounds great, but it's limited because of the Jenigor bar on the top edge. Good stick saver though

LP Rock Cowbell. I don't care much for the ridge rider version, it takes away from that great cowbell tone.

I personally feel that one is a little loud in general.
