I recently got into Oasis, particularly their album "(Whats the Story?) Morning Glory".
I missed the concert in Aus. The new album is ok but does not compare to their old albums.
Discuss Oasis and any of their concerts you have been or their music.

I really like Oasis, they're riffs and songs are not the most technical at all but I still enjoy to listen to them.

I really can't stand them. They're too boring and they're jerks too.

I respect them that they managed to be so successful. But most of the time its like "Grow up, and stop being a tosser.". And yeah I also prefer things to be a little more technical/exciting.

Cant go wrong with a sweep-picking and riffs that end with pinch harmonics

I caught the Australian gig, and it went off! They played all the awsome songs, including Wonderwall, which they had dropped from their set a while ago, and The Masterplan which was sorta cool. They absolutely blew the roof off with My Generation though - wicked song.

best band in the world IMO, why does technical guitar playing need to be a major issue? if a riff is catchy and the music is good (which it is) then i see no need for big fancy solos, download 'live forever' from the album definitely maybe and if your a true music fan u'l understand what i mean...Noel Gallagher probly one of the best british song writers ever. i admit i'm a very big oasis fan, ok they can be tossers at times but that attitude got them to were they are today. They sold out 2 nights at knebworth park, 120,000 ppl each night in about 10mins...responses are welcome, but read up on em and u'l understand how big they were and still are

I was brought up in Manchester, so it was only normal I got exposure to them. I think they were born in Gorton or Wythenshawe. Somewhere rough as buggery, I know that as much.

Anyway, I enjoy their first 3 albums, after that I've not really heard anything aside from the odd song. Definitely Maybe is by far their best album, with Slide Away taking best song honour.

Burnage is were they grew up, quite a rough area, live forever has to yake the honours for best song on DM

Aye, Burnage! that's the one. Live Forever is pretty good aswell, but it's probably one I overplayed a little too much. Bit like the whole Morning Glory album aswell. I think that was one of the first albums I had bought for me.

I think Oasis is the type of band that sounds better the more you listen to them. Kind of like an acquired taste.

I like them but they are nothing special. Just like everyother 90's british rock, if I wanted that and ten time's better I'd listen to Manic Street Preacher's. But they have their gem's here and there.
