Between Cool Edit Pro, Adobe Auditon, and Acid Pro?
EDIT// I noticed that Adobe Audition and Cool Edit look exactly the same. What are performance differences in them?

It all depends on preference to a degree. I've used Cool Edit and Acid and far prefer Cool Edit as it's more geared for actual recording. Acid seems to be geared more for sampling and putting together pre-recorded beats.

Adobe Audition = Cool Edit (sort of).
Adobe bought the rights to the Cool Edit software, discontinued Cool Edit, and now market it under the name "Audition"

Like he said audition is just an updated version of cool edit made my a different company. I wouldnt use acid pro as its mostly for midi or to create samples to add to recordings. i would stick with cool edit as its free. or if you can get ahold of a version of cubase sx i would recommend that.
