sorry i posted something like this in the cymbal finder but havent gotten a response and i have to make my christmas list soon. anyway, i got a 16 hh thin crassh and was looking at a studio crash. i was recommended 18" AAs i think but i like the sound of thin crashes better. Do i still need a crash heavier than the studio crashes or can i have 2 thin ones?

You could have a billion thin crashes and then one heavy crash because you liked the sound of that one heavy cymbal. It is all personal preference as to what sounds you want.
Weight doesn't mean anything, you'll have to listen to cymbals.
