Today I was introduced to The Amenta by a guy on myspace, and I now feel compelled to make a thread. I was quite surprised when I first heard their Industrial Death Metal sound, as I'd seen them labelled as Black Metal. This didn't change the fact that the music was awesome though.
A quick history shows that they formed in 2002 and quickly released a 3 track EP entitled Mictlan. July 2004 saw the release of their debut album, Occasus, which features two of the three tracks already released on Mictlan. The album did well, scoring numerous ratings of 9/10 around the web. Dave Haley (of Psycroptic), otherwise known as Diazanon, is outstanding on the drums.
They have two tracks available for download from their website and myspace, so give them a listen. There is also a series of calm untitled songs, which a very different to what they've released on record. I hope you guys like it.
