Thanks for the crit man. I checked out dreams. I dig the song. I'm usually not a big hardcore man but the riffs were pretty cool. Now for the criticism. I was not a big fan of the snare drum sound. I'm a drummer and thats just not my pref. I did however like the bass drum sound. ****ing thunder man. Vocals were cool but sometimes a little low in the mix. I bet if this thing were played live at mach speed it would totally rock. I know its not your style probably but check out a demo of a song I did in a thread called away on here.

what was used to get that bassdrum sound as far as mics and placement goes, I can never seem to get the kick to stand out well like yours does in those 2 songs. As far as your songs they sound realy good to me i might try making the snare a little fuller more low end to it, im no drumer but it sounds a bit thin to my ears

Not something I'd listen to mainly because it's mostly screaming with makes the song less and less catchy.

I'd have to say though you do sound good both vocally and musically. But again, the constant screaming makes both songs exactly the same cause you're using the same tone over and over again.

So my advice for you: Don't scream throughout the whole song unless you really know what you're doing (when you gain more experience). The non-screaming parts were good, there should be more of them there.

We are going for a sound like as i lay dying meets killswitch engage. Does anyone familiar with the genre care to comment?

the first thing I thought of when I listened to drowing was As I Lay Dieing... one of my personal favorites. I heard nothing that reminded me of Killswitch however. I'll edit this when I hear the 2nd song

later: ok I heard a bit of Killswitch on the 2nd song but still it reminded me mostly of AILD. If u wanna sound more like KSE then make some of it a bit less intense and make ur non screaming parts more melodic...

pretty good... nice songwriting as well. hope u get signed eventually, and you really got a good chance. Ur better than some people I heard on Ferret.

well i to am in the same genre , as i lay dying is a good influence for basically getting down harmonised guitar riffs , personally i think the bass drum doesnt sound good in the recording not ballsy enough, both songs sound alike because the lead singer does not have a variying voice like just listening to it i could tell places he should go higher not because i like it but because it flows with the part, he seems to lack creativity in his scream, everything is solid but singer needs to switch it up , make your own sound dont try to sound like something already done to become good you need to be innovative man ,

i really appreciate the input guys!

i think part of the reason our singer sounds monotone is because we dubbed over his vocals too much...

Anyway ill keep you all posted on any future recordings.

listening to the Drowning mp3 right now! but by the way he seems to lack creativity in his scream, everything is solid but singer needs to switch it up this is something I also thought of. a lot of bands lack this.
