If someone bashes a band I like, they know **** about music. If they do know what they're talking about, I just take it and say "meh, I like them", or if I feel like it, I'll debate it, and still not be pissed. So you are wrong. It's also a scientific fact that Slipknot is ****, thanks.

Agreed. Their older stuff is great, but almost all of Vol. 3 is that much better. Alot of people don't like them because of their stage antics, which they don't do anymore! Other people just hate them for the sake of it.

I think they all knew going into it that their decision to go with the particular image they did was going to alienate some people.

Slipknot I dislike on many levels, and their fans are only making it worse for me when I have to listen to their crap.

Manson is a little better. I don't really like his music, but I'll give him a lot of credit for bearing the brunt of public ridicule on behalf of not only metalheads, but also Goths and other decidedly dark countercultures with intelligence, eloquence, and a calm dignity.

I agree that some fans are over the top. I whore Slipknot alot, but I don't go on about how good they are because they have cool looking masks and whatnot. While I like their masks, that's not why I like them. I like them for their music, and IMO, they are great musicians.

I can understand why people don't like them though, just because of their dark imagery in their songs, but I hate hearing them get bagged out. I try not to bag out bands because I know that it's all personal opinion, but sometimes I just can't help myself... like when it comes to Eminem or 50 Cent.
