Today I heard a song I haven't heard in a long time, "Scat Man", and it got me thinking. Was music ever happy? With so many brooding and pissed off bands out there can music be happy? If you know and genuienly happy and fun songs that put you in a good mood as soon as you hear them, please post. And if you haven't already, listen to Scat Man.

Well, for a start, The Polyphonic Spree are possibly the most deliriously happy band on the planet.

May not be a good idea to follow that link if you're photosensitive.

This is a drive by post in this fourm, came here by accident, but...

Check out some Funk music. Especially the early stuff. Not a whole lot of angst or sadness there, it's all about having fun. Especially guys like Parliament, Bootsy's bands, etc. with their ridiculous personas and such. But a lot of the real, groovy funk is unabashed party music, with no real intent but to have a good time.

Lot's of British Invasion bands, and other 60's pop bands.
50's rock and roll as well, the likes of Chuck Berry and Little Richard.
