Not a triple kick, but a triple pedal.
Let me explain...
In school today, somehow the conversation turned to drums (no clue how, as there are only a couple other drummers in the school besides me and neither was in the class) and two of the people started talking about triple pedals. So I say "Huh? There's no such thing as a triple pedal. A triple kick, yes, but no triple pedal."
The point is, the argument lasted 10 minutes, and even after proof (showing them musiciansfriend had no triple pedals, explaining how it is physically IMPOSSIBLE to play a triple pedal, etc. etc.), and they still don't believe me.
Why do non-drummers (or non-any instrument) talk about an instrument like they know it?
:smash: So annoying... :smash:

Perhaps they were speaking about this- http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_pid/445402/
I don't really know why you spent time arguing with them, though.

Well, you can't really expect them to know what it's called when the really don't know that much about the instrument.
Plus, I don't call it a double tripple kick pedal.
Nobody does.

Why the hell do you care so much? Triple kick, triple pedal. Same **** different pile dude... this is like getting mad at someone who thinks the chicken came before the egg, when you think the egg came first. It's stupid.

Portnoy used 3 on his Siamese Monster kit, and on his new Albino Monster kit.
it's basically 2 kits in one, you don't use all 3 bass drums at once.
If we're talking crazy, Terry bozzio has 6 (?) Bass drums, all controlled by remote pedals.

^from the latest pics. ive seen, i think it was actually 7, but close enough.(to razor)
*to 101* you get a remote pedal. or attack the master pedal of a double to the 3rd kick.
yeah, they were probably talking about the duallist. who gives a flying **** though.

That's what I showed them.
And, well, it's kind of in my blood to argue. I have argued a point I don't believe in (feel strongly against, as a matter of fact) for over an hour and almost win the argument... it's just what I do.
:smash:
The thing is, even when I explained to them that they were technically right, but just using the wrong terms, they refused to accept that and acted like I just told them their shoes were on hte wrong feet or somehting.

Because people don't like people who argue anything to the point of being moronic ;).
It's hard for some ppl to understand that doing a something in triples with two feet in only one motion is _not_ logical.

In the case of Mike Portnoy, 2 seats.

My Yes-No-Goodbye answers arn't always liked though... :smash:

Meh, same difference. Triple kick, triple pedal. Who really cares.

No, triple pedal is something else than 3 bassdrums.
Because: With the triple pedal, you get 3 strokes from a 2 stroke movement, all on the same bassdrum, getting the same sound every hit.
With 3 bassdrums you can get 3 different sounds if you want, and every stroke you make is one stroke...
