They're nothing compared to a real warwick, but they beat the living **** out of a lot of basses in that price range. They're a lot better when you don't actually compare them to warwick.

i know... i just made that really roughly to see if it was possible, currently i'm making a half-scale bass. i'm not sure if i'm gonna tune it like a bass or not, and its gonna be fretless. i still need to figure out how to shape the neckand such, but i'll make a thread about it when i'm done

Lecture me on why edge :p
Yields a more even tone across the fretboard. The closer you get to the base of the fretboard the more output you'll have, and the thicker the string the more output you'll have. A standard P position accentuates the E and A strings WAY more than the D and G strings. Doing it this way yields a more even response.

hey mastrbasser, how is that schecter bass? im saving up for that exact bass
incredible. It has a wide array of usable tones. It feels great, and it didn't take me long to get used to the slightly smaller string spacing. The low b string is nice and springy (i use 135 gauge for more tension). overall it's a great bass, but it lacks a little bit in the "growl" department. Gav knows what i'm talking about. You can always tweak your tone a bit to get some growl. Just no warwick growl. It's a great all around bass and can fit in numerous band situations.
