Wrote this Acid Jazz tune for my music technology coursework. Had to program/sequence all the instruments myself. See if you can guess which tune its based on :)

Still need to put the real instruments in (drums, guitar, percussion and some live decks), at the moment its just XG MIDI which isn't too bad. I made it
with Cubase hooked up to a keyboard if anyone cares.

Let me know what you think, thanks.

Very cool stuff. You seem to have an excellent musical vocabulary and some good taste. I loved all the variation in the piece, especially with the percussion. I'm afraid that I couldn't figure out the tune its based upon. Any hints?

If you get around to adding real instruments, could you please repost? I'd like to hear how it sounds (although the MIDI version sounds excellent). Nice work. :smoke:

Thanks!!! Well the first section was based on So What by Miles Davis.. the chord progression that is.. Although mine is in a different key, so i'm not completely ripping him off ;). It goes AABA (structurally speaking) with Am,Am,Bbm,Am, which is similar to So What which also modulates up and down a semitone. Thanks for the nice comments though :)
