lookin through the threads i dont think ive seen a pub rock thread yet....and i havnt seen many pub rock tabs either
anyway, to begin with this is my understanding of pub rock. pub rock was created for working class men to play (u guessed it) in a pub. It usually is full of hard riffs and strong aggressive vocals about drinking and partying all night after a hard days' work....:chug:
Popular bands from this genre are ACDC, Rose Tattoo, The Angels, The Choirboys, Cold Chisel, Jimmy Barnes, The Proclaimers, Men At Work, The Troggs, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, J.Geils Band, Meatloaf, Deep Purple, and The Animals... if you have any more id love to hear it.....but this is open for discussion about any pub rock band you've heard of (and not just ACDC please)

I always thought Deep Purple and ZZ Top, AC/DC etc were considered "Classic Rock", along with a few more of those bands you mentioned, there IS a classic rock thread somewhere, I think :-/

Yeah well i think classic rock and pub rock sorta grow into each other, just pub rock doesnt have as much piano and acoustic guitars...usually

I think most Australians do. It's what a lot of younger Australian's would have grown up listening to (thanks to our Fathers etc). The majority of people who have posted in this thread are Aussies.
Pub rock owns, and so do Aussie compilation CDs:thumb:

so it would seem, I'm rather intrigued into wether this is an actual genre or not.
Edit: Yeh, it is.
