View Full Version : The update!

I know I haven't been around a lot, so I'd figure I'd post whore myself with a simple update. (Yes, I have an inflated feeling of self-worth.)
I have a new bass teacher, finally. I like the guy, for sure, and he is a good guy. But I can't tell if he is super technically proffecient, yet. He could just be very modest and non intimidating.
The jazz band at my school is doing really well, the new teacher is overly qualified and an excellent musician. We sound pretty damn good, and the rhythem section just can grove (were a bit too loud, especially for jazz---blame the guitars.) But its a lot of fun, and starting to become a commitment.
So enough with the good news -Yes, I know I didn't discuss good vs. bad, and since its relative...**** it.- here with the bad.
Supposidly my bass might have a grounding issue causing it to have some static through amps and causing it to pop. I might have to get it re-wired and new pick ups (quater pounders anyone?) which would come with a free adjustment of string height, truss rod, etc. The only problem with this is, it might loose its super feel (those at berkely can really attest to it) which makes me worry a bit.
Um yah..
btw, elliott smith = the sex.

If they kill the P, they will die!
I intonated that bass!
But yeah, my jazz band blows because I still blow at sightreading in bass clef...

I know this is spam, and it should stop. But it reminds me of Berklee way too much to be comfortable. :amaze:
But yeah, that P was the only Fender I've ever loved, and it wasn't a J.
