I finally got a interface cable for my bass v-amp and tried hooking it up to my puter so I can gain more effects, models, and maybe even record a song or two. But, when I use the software for this machine it keeps saying "if you connect a device with its MIDI through function active it cannot respond to scanning - rescan all MIDI ports now". I have tried to plug it in with it being in "MIDI THRU" / "MIDI OUT" modes and I still can't get anything to work. anyone have any ideas? oh almost forgot the midi port is on the MB and not on the S/C. MB is the Asus K8N4-E deluxe board.
I have tried to talk to the geeks on a puter forum about the midi interfacing issue but they dont seem to want to help a whole lot or maybe jsut dont know wtf is going on with it. have any of you had this problem and if you did what did you do to get rid of it? THX

has a pic of the cable I use for interfacing also the connector for my midi which is NOT on the sound card.
