My bass teacher is good friends with jaco pastorious's family who live in Fort lauderdale Florida. I live on the other coast. He goes up to their house and jams with Jaco's kids. It sounds awesome. He says he got really drunk and when they were jamming he was playing a five string tuned to a tenor bass and he didn't realize it (yeah he must have been smashed:p ) it sounded awful he said, pretty funny:p :p :p

But I've met these bassists before and talked with them:
Ryan Martinie - Mudvayne
Geezer Butler - Black Sabbath
Troy Sanders - Mastodon
James MacDonough - Megadeth
and if you've ever heard of the band called the Pennyroyals, I know all of them, they're neighboors at the studio I used to practice at with my old band, so I guess that's worthy of putting down.

Dude, half the people I know know/used to know Sheehan. I'm from Buffalo. I've met him and talked to him myself. Cool anyway, though.
My other bassist's Dad had a few drinks with Rick Wakeman.
My Dad, who used to play bass, had a chance to tour with Joe Cocker (by the time he got the offer he had quit playing and joined a biker gang...this included selling his Guild Starfire hollowbody, Gibson Thunderbird, Gibson SG (61, first year made), Gibson Hummingbird (acoustic, it'd be worth like 20 grand nowadays, or so says GC), Fender Bass VI (with purple paisley finish, I might add), and all kinds of other gear that could have been mine... *cries*
I hung out with and played Halo 2 with Poor Man's Riches, Staple, Sides of the North, and The Hungr (I think that's how they spell it...).
This guy who works with my cousin ended up in a boxing ring with Cliff Burton (kind of long story), and Hetfield ended up stepping in and stomping the both of them.

12-09-2005, 08:07 AM
 Okay then.
Metallica used to come through here fairly often in the mid-80s, sometime before MOP (not completely sure of the date). As most people know, Buffalo has horrible winters, with feet of snow coming down on a steady basis. Here's a picture of fellow Buffalo native Billy Sheehan that I think gives you a good idea:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v305/ledzep678/other_snowshoveling.jpg
Anyway though, Metallica got trapped at a bar by a blizzard. This particular bar was a fairly rowdy place, and they had fairly often visits from the authorities, and a lot of broken property fairly often. The solution? Make the combatants enter a ring to settle their differences instead of smashing the bar to crap and getting the cops involved. I don't know if they were screwing around, or he insulted Cliff, or Cliff insulted him, or what happened, but they ended up in the boxing ring. After a few minutes James just stepped in and destroyed them both. He said this about Hetfield: "That guy has some serious problems. There's a lot of anger in those eyes."

totally kick ***. i think my bass teacher used ot have that compressor in his rig. i was taking lessons with him at a music store, but he quit. we sarted taking them at his house, and its amazing. he has 2 ampeg 8x10's, 2 peavey 8x10's, a crate 2x15, ampeg head, dbx poweramp, and some high-end compressor. he also has a double-bass ludwig drum kit with over 20 cymbals. but the coolest thing is his guitar rig. he has so much effect pedals and rack units. and he has 15 marshall JCM 800 cabs. how sick is that?

you just repeated exactly what you just said after i responded to it. information from anywhere could very well not be credible. 99% of wikipedia's information is from multiple other sources (you can see citings on the end of each page, that is if the source isn't already quoted in the text) making it generally more credible (and convenient!) than many other sources.
chances are, since you claim that you'd magically "have" to double-check the sources (which you should be doing for any source in the first place, if you need information on something that is absolutely critical to be accurate on, otherwise you just generally have to TRUST them. oh, wait! you don't even need to look for more sources. you could just check the end of the wiki article) just because in your mind, you think there's a grand conspiracy to change minute details in wikis, doesn't mean it actually HAPPENS. you cannot prove a point based on something that could happen. just look what happened with weapons of mass destruction in iraq

My dad gave his space-heater to Ted Nugent. He then got to hang out backstage for the whole show, chat it up with Ted, and then Ted let my dad fire his crossbow at a target! It was wicked cool.
That is the coolest thing I've ever heard.

As lame and as fanboy as it sounds...
I've waited outside after concerts to meet Type O Negative (all but Kenny), DamagePlan, Opeth, and Moonspell (all except for their second guitarist/keyboardist). I've also met Cam DeLeon and Sid Haig at Comic-Con. Haa.
