A lot of beginners and even some intermediate players have trouble applying rudiments to the drumset and grooves, this was a problem I had and still struggle with. So here's a simple paradiddle groove played between the snare drum and hi-hats. It's simply 16th notes with a run of 32nds at the end.

pretty cool. I couldn't really make out the paradiddle part but you were doing both hands on the hats so that is probally why.

Unless I'm incorrect, that is a straightforward, paradiddle-oriented beat I use.

Yeah that's a paradiddle, I use that one too. Gotta love paradiddles.

Awesome stuff man.

I use paradiddles all the time for turn arounds on stickings, that seems to be their biggest usefulness to me.

That would sound cool if instead of just playing it on the hats you used a ride bell and a cup chime/bell or hats. Just a thought.

I liked the recording

Yeah that would be cool, but the purpose of this thread is to show how you can use paradiddles and other rudiments and not make them so obvious. If you just listened to the clip, you would probably think it was just straight RLRL.

a really cool beat from Future sounds by David Garibaldi is this:
quarter notes on bass, paradiddle between snare and hihats in triplets accenting the first beat of every paradiddle.

this creates a 3/4 polyrythm
