easy metal/rock songs for a beginer band

hey, me and a couple of mates are starting a band but we're having a little trouble finding good songs to play
we're intrested in playing any rock or metal (we like some of the older stuff) but we dont want to go all hardout and play deathmetal or anything of that sort (you get the idea)
so any ideas of what would be good to play for a few beginer/intermediate musicians would be greatly appreciated

I would recommend something along the lines of Metallica = For whom the bell tollz. its a pretty strait forward song and ideal for any beginner.

If you like SOAD, then play Sugar. It's a great live track that a lot of people know, it also happens to be pretty damn easy.
