Okay....So I found out the company selling the PdP MX only had 12",14",16" and 18" toms(they dont have the 10" which was supposed to be in the Basic Set). And they do not let me try out the kit before buying.

Singapore also doesnt have the Tama Starclassic(you've got to order it for about 4000-5000 singapore dollars).
So I've been thinking about the Tama Superstar.(1560 singapore dollars...about US$1040)

Is it a good kit? Your views on this kit please.Thanks.

Views on the Birch and Basswood shells too please.

Any other good kits around the Superstar price other than Mapex(its not availiable in singapore)? Thanks.

Hi thar fellow Singaporean!

Well, are they giving you the PDP in 12", 14" and 16"? That's a fine set of sizes to go with for toms..

The Superstars are good drums, but you can definitely bargain him down and get the guys down at the store to throw in more stuff for the package. If you don't have cymbals or haven't budgeted them in, I'd suggest getting a stagestar and then an AA/Paragon Pack. Easily the most kickass package ever. And you fork about the same amount too. Don't underestimate the stagestars!

Thanks fellow singaporean. And yes, they are giving me the 12",14" and 16" toms but do they sell drumheads in packs for these sizes?

And i'll be getting cymbals, either the Prosonix pack or B8 pack.
