My dad offered to get me something drum related for christmas, so I asked if I could have a new Hi-hat stand since mine is geting along in years.

So, I need your help.

Anyone in Vancouver have suggestions for buying HH stands here?

I always reccommend this one: Tama Roadpro. $100, it's got all the adjustments you'll ever need, and it'll last you forever.

DW 5500TD man. Sturdy, rugged, 2 legs, baseplate, nice features, and most importantly: simple and reliable.

123. i love mine. hella sturdy. dont buy it though if you plan on having your kit on carpet like in a bedroom. all 2 legged stands will wobble a bunch if they are on thick carpet.

Can't go wrong with DW.

The IC HH stand is excellent as well, I use the lever glide.

The Elim, DW 5500TD and 9000 hi hat are all great hat stands. The 2 legged designs are great if you have double pedals, the crappy pearl one i have has 3 legs, and even though they can rotate its still annoying having the 3rd leg so close to the footpedal.

Like aznriceball said, it would be best to try them all out, they are all high end stands so it will probably just come to down to price/which one you like better.

very true. i got the Dw for same price as the IC. liked them both but in the end tamas horrible customer service just made me steer clear from them.

Well.. take good care of your stuff and you'd probably never need to get in touch with the CS guys from Tama, so I'd say go with the IC. Their pedals are tanks, i suppose the hihat stand wouldn't be far off.

Yea their pedals are one of the few tama products id strongly reccomend, they ARE tanks.

I would go for the dw 5500D the three legged one, but that is just my opinion. I'm also looking for a new hi hat stand and I was just going to go down to L&M and see what their prices are like, probally end up buying from them too.

L&M got me my IC for $190 CDN, which I thought was pretty KICKASS because that's even less than massmusic.net!!

I think I might go for the IC... 200 bucks is a good price. I'm not the type to ask for something amazingly expensive, so I'll stay away from anything above 200.

Good stuff, I've seen 5500TDs come out of boxes with black hinges that weren't the standard professional DW ballbearing hinge, and they made me wince .

I like yamaha stands. Dont know the model but I us it in my drum lessons and it is really cool. Mind, ive only used that and an eliminator. I forget what the eliminator was like, obviously nothing special.
