No, you need special laptop videocards. You can't just go out, buy a 7800 and stick it in a laptop.
sure ya can ... it won't work and it won't fit like you'd like it to, but you can certaintly put a normal video card in a laptop.

I don't think it's possible to upgrade a laptop video card.

The real answer is yes and no.
Laptops use the same parts as a regular computer. Like a regular computer, whether or not you can use a video card depends on the motherboard.
I'm sure there are laptop motherboards that can accept a standard videocard but my guess is yours doesn't.

but how would you fit a normal size graphics card in a 2-3cm laptop?
my friend actually does have a 'regular' video card in his laptop ... It's a Radeon something-or-other but it fits ... granted his 'laptop' weighs 35 lbs. He got it from Alienware
We tend to think of it more as being a 'portable workstation'.

yes but u need to take off each chip of the old video chipset and from the new video card and then solder the new chips on, its the only way

you get either integrated graphics (soldered in the mobo) which may also share ram for extra memory, or you get actual 'cards' like nVidia/Radeon graphic cards. As to whether they are accessible or even possible to remove I cant help you on that.
My educated guess is it depends on the laptop mobo design.
