So lately ive been getting into bands with organist...im talking about bands that really abuse the organ and know how to get down...and i was wondering if anyone could reccomend me some bands with organ, a band that kinda sounds like led zeppelin and the mars volta when it comes to the organ especially involving improvising jams

I would've suggested Sigur Ros until I saw that you wanted bands like Led Zeppelin and Mars Volta. And improvising.
Although they're not really progressive, check out Wolf Parade.

Ugh,
Sometimes I hate the Mars Volta.
Check out King Crimson and Yes.

No you don't.
Or should I ask, why?

Check out King Crimson and Yes.I'd also add ELP and the Doors to that. You can find a fair share of organ playing in plenty of prog, but trying to find "organ jams" in more straightforward rock might be a bit tougher.

Well they don't entirely fit your wish, but try Black Mountain. They're not as "huge" sounding as Zep or Mars Volta but they can freak out and have extended jams of sorts.
I'm sure you'll like them.

Uhh, probably not exactly what you're looking for, but The (international) Noise Conspiracy have some pretty cool stuff with organs.

Becasue their fan base is worse then Tool's at times.

Good point.
I think my housemate grew his hair out purposely to look like Cedric Bixler.

There is a band called zZz that makes organ based rock and roll, with no guitars...they're a pretty nifty band.
I'd second King Crimson.
Also as a comparison to Mars Volta, Coheed and Cambria are usually thrown around (I still struggle to find a really strong link there though). Arcade Fire have a really big experimental type sound.....sort of.

I'm not very good at organ music.

Listen to "Close to the Edge," which has a big fat middle section of nothing but organ stuff. Rick Wakeman loves the keys, but usually sticks with a synthy or piano-type sound in other songs (the piano interlude in South Side of the Sky is amazing).

Only met one or two other Mars Volta fans, and they were pretty cool guys. I've never met a Tool fan I've liked, though...

See, it's like the opposite for me. So it's all opinionated anyways.
