This thread is dedicated to the awesomeness that is Zelda. The franchise is huge, selling in all areas of the world. In here we discuss anything related to The Legend of Zelda, including games, screenshots, merch and trailers.
The game was thought up by Nintendo producer Shigeru Miyamoto, who is also the creator of such games as Super Mario, Star Fox, Pikmin, Super Smash Bros and Animal Crossing.
Discuss anything about it here.
To start it off, what do you guys think about the new game comig out? I think it looks realy good, pehaps even a rival to the Ocarina of Time, arguably the greatest game ever.

Yaaa. A Zelda thread. I think that the new game will be very good, but no where near the greatness of the Ocarina of time. That game was so groundbreaking that Twilight Princess will have a hard time to top it.

Majora's Mask was a good game, but IMO I liked Ocarina better. Majora's Mask did have some cool parts, like the changing forms with the masks.

My N64 is full of dust, which is a shame because I want to re-play OOT.
I can always play it on Cube, though.

I might rebuy an N64 for nostalgias sake, a shop nearby is selling one for £10 and has a selection of over 30 games for £1 each.
I hated the zelda on the gamecube though way too childish for my taste, hopefully the new one will be better are there any previews out yet?
See you auntie!

Okay, let's get this straight.
The game is called Ocarina of Time.
O-CA-RI-NA.
The instrument that he uses in OoT (and in Link's Awakening by the way) is a real instrument called an Ocarina. Not Orcana, not Ocriana, or anything else that's going to come up despite my best efforts.
That being said: LoZ rocks.

To me, Four Swords just didn't cut it unless you played with 4 people. It's a great game with friends, but not as good single player.

Ocarina of Time was possibly my favourite game ever made. It was simply perfection. The only thing I can think of to rival it is the Baldur's Gate series.
I played through Majora's Mask once, didn't really dig it that much. It seemed to lack the depth of OOT, or something. I'm not sure, it just didn't click with me.

OoT is definately my favourite game of all time, it was just so awesome. I got MM with my N64 but never got past the 2nd temple, it just didn't have the playability that OoT had, and then I sold my N64. Just recently though I downloaded a 64 emulator and was playing MM. I havn't played in a while but I think I'm up to the fourth temple, I might continue it over the next few weeks.

Man, I was like 8/9/10 (can't really remeber) when I first went through the Shadow Temple. I couldn't sleep for days. The guilltiones and the hands that would drop down on you were so creepy.

That's why you always go to the bank and store your rupees away. Also there's a treasure chest in clock town that has a 100 ruprees. Every time you go back just grab that and buy some inventory, easy. Also on the last night Anju's room at the inn is open, and there's a treasure chest that has 200 rupees. Easy!
And also the Inverted Song of Time makes the game a lot easier.
And man oh man twilight princess looks sweet.

The Forest one isn't that bad, except Ganondorf at the end of the temple.. I think that's the one where he comes out of the paintings on his horse and crap. Yeah, it takes forever to beat that one.
Refresh my memory on the fire temple.. that's the one inside that Bolero Mountain right?
The Water Temple is the freaking worst.
Seems everyone hates the water temple. As for the fire temple, you are correct, it is inside Bolero mountain. The Dragon(Volga or something) is eating all the gorons and you have to go save them.

Some of the best moments in Zelda history were in that battle.
Ex. Ganon) The extremely annoying Zelda.

Ex. Ganondorf) MRRRRAAAAAAGHGHHBLOOGIAAHHH!!!!!!!

Some of the best moments in Zelda history were in that battle.
Ex. Ganon) The extremely annoying Zelda.
"I'll just stand here and yell nonsense to you, but I won't actually throw your sword back!"
Ex. Ganondorf) MRRRRAAAAAAGHGHHBLOOGIAAHHH!!!!!!!

oh god so many memories of getting OoT on launch day.
I remember it was november, I was in 7th grade at the time, it was the first game I ever pre-ordered. I remember that same day I had a pizza party for my math class after school, but I was so excited for Zelda, I ended up just taking two slices of pizza and devouring them. I then proceeded to tell my teacher I had to get home early because I had to go food shopping with my mom. So I ran home(I live adjacent to my school district) with this huge backpack I used to carry. Finally got home and it was there on my bed waiting for me, and I was so riled up I ended up ripping the corner of the box(still have it too). Ahh good times.

I used a walkthrough on the Water Temple cos man was that hard. Even the boss took a long while it was soo annoying and as bosses go quite sucked.
I never really used any walkthroughs on any of the games I've played, thats becasue I'm to lazy to search them online and/or too cheap and poor to buy 'em and not to mention that it takes some fun outta the game.
But anyways I remembered that the water temple was a bitch, because I couldn't find some key and it had to do with the bottom door at the bottom of the pillar in the middle. If I opened that door (using my last Small Key) I would of spent all my keys and wouldn't of been able to advance so I just ended up using Naru's Wind to go to the begining of the temple and then jumping off the ledge and landing on the second floor when the water level was at its minumum. After this I proceded to adcance and finishing it that way and eventually beating it.
Not to mention that Dark Link was hard as hell, I would of put him as the boss instead of Morpha or whatever.
Then the Spirit Temple is the coolest dungeon of the game, I just loved it all the way through and not to mention that trying to beat it with an N64 emulator 4 years after selling my original N64 (what was I thinking  ).
But yeah, the controls on my comp are kinda messed up even tho I arranged them so I can be easier but a keyboard is not an N64 controler. But I still manged to beat it and now I'm re-playing Majora's Maska (I Think is harder than OoT). But now I just beat the first temple.
What kinda gets me is that I collected all the mask back when I had N64 but now I don't even remember where to start, but I'll eventually figure it out...

I love the Spirit Temple, my favourite level, awesome music on it too.
Fire Temple also has great music, I got my copy like a few days after it was released in the UK, so I think it has the original Fire Temple music (apparently on later editions, the music was changed because it contained Islamic chants, and this offended some Muslims).

Bongo Bongo is the Shadow Temple's boss: two giant hands and an invisible "face". Wind Waker has a similar boss in the Temple of the Gods.
Temple of Gods boss was way easier.

I was never to crazy about Windwaker. It was a decent game, but in my opion it lacked something that all other Zelda games had. What that is, I have no idea, but it just didn't feel like a true Zelda game.

Wind Waker felt a lot more mystical than OOT or MM did, but the graphics didn't live up to the hype.
Besides, out of five years with the GCN they made one game (not counting TP)

THE MINISH CAP= 5 of 10 (LAME)
THE WIND WAKER= 7 of 10 (really fun, but the graphics were kind of odd)
FOUR SWORDS= 10 of 10 (only with multiplayer though)
ORACLE OF SEASONS= 5 of 10 (seemed kinda lame really)
ORACLE OF AGES= 5 of 10 (see above)
MAJORA'S MASK= 6 of 10 (decent, but not too great)
OCARINA OF TIME= 9.5 of 10 (totally awesome, nuff said)
LINK'S AWAKENING= unknown
A LINK TO THE PAST= 10 of 10 (totally awesome game, maybe not 10 of 10 but still very good)
THE ADVENTURE OF LINK= 3 of 10 (very big mistake I think)
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA= 8 of 10 (great if you are bored, otherwise not so great)

Yeah WW is a good game but, when you compare it with the other especially the one before it, it isn't as good as the rest and I suppose thats why people dnt consider it as a 'proper' zelda game. It's mainly the graphics people can't get past butit's the whole sailing to Island's thing which bored me really. however still a great game.

First off the advance wars games suck for the GC, smash bros admittedly is amazing, pikmin outside Japan no one bought, animla crossing another good game and as for Fire Emblem only 2 games have ever been released GC and while they are both good aren't exactly 'killer'. In the same way as GTA is for sony and Halo is the Xbox. Nintendo has a lot game franchises at it's disposal and if it's gonna make the Le Revolution work needs some good titles ready for launch. This is why I'm preparing my self for maybe another delay of TS for the revolution.

Are you insane? Advance Wars PWNES. Great series. Dual Strike is a great game, and Black Hole Rising is one of the best GBA games I have played. Plus, they havnt had a Advance wars for GC,so I have no idea what your talking about there. I know plenty of people who have bought, and enjoyed Pikmin. Fire Emblem, Path of Radience is a wicked game, and there have been three released in NA (orig, sacred stones and Path of Radience).

Zelda, Mario, Metroid Prime, Advance Wars, Animal Crossing, Super Smash Bros, Star Fox, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Pikmin, Mario Kart (or does that come under Mario). There's a few for you. Nintendo has a lot of its classic franchises left, along with plenty of good new ones too.

One I said advance wars sucks for the GAMECUBE, cos the advance wars on the GBA do pawn, theres only been two fire emblem games released in Europe. Ok I missed the mark on pikmin it was a good game and I had a look at the figures last night and did actually sell well.
Mario is the most iconic game character with Link running second, indeed heads will roll if zelda goes to the playstation. If it did it would probably suck anyway.
