when i scan my computer with norton, it doesnt find any viruses, but it says some other "non threatening items were found". When i clicked "more details", i learned that there was adware. I scanned with webroot spysweeper, and it didnt find anything. what can i do to get rid of it?

Download Spybot - Search and Destroy and see if that finds it.
On a semi-related note, I think the fact that you use Norton is a bigger problem than your adware infection.

Norton Antivirus is crap, it misses alot of stuff.
As far as you're spyware problem goes, try downloading Microsft Anti-Spyware, Ad-Aware SE, and Spy-Bot Search and Destroy. One of those should be able to get rid of it.
