Just curious to see where everyone places their snare.I know it supposed to be directly in front of you but I find I place mine a little to my left .....I'm still paralell with the toms, but the snare is a little to my left closer to the hi-hat.

Your leg should line up directly with your bass drum pedal, so start there when you are positioning your kit. This makes it impossible for your snare drum to be directly in front of you, so it'll need to be off to the left a little. I take away everything except my bass drum and my seat and then set everything up after I line my leg up with my kick pedal. I then try to get the hi-hats and snare as close as possible to my bass drum playing leg, and then I go from there.

One in between my legs, one to the left of my left leg.

I sit like this...

With the throne exactly in the middle of the snare. This way everything is easy to reach and i'm not turning myself away from any part of the kit. I see a lot of players kind of angling the snare or themselves away from the kit which is a bad way to play because you have to turn to hit some parts of the kit.

I would say set the snare and throne up first, make sure they are both in line and then set up the rest of the kit around that.

I keep mine in front of me, directly behind the high tom on my kit. Once I get my aux. snare that'll probably be right to the left of my hihats :thumb:

Directly in front of the rack tom, flat and relatively low, and I sit relatively far back.

My bass is in line with my leg, and my snare is directly in front of me... and it works great.
