Okay so I have to learn this song and it sounds very difficult. The rolls themselves are easy but the placement of them and memorizing them is gonna be tricky.....did Alan White use brushes for this song? Because he doesn't use bruashe slive and it sounds alot worse....also..I notice he hits some cymbals in the song. Can brushes produce a clear cymbal sound or were those edited in?

You don't need to learn it note for note, just make up your own fills based around what you think he is doing.
yeah the main beat is pretty simple isn't it? Like a really softly played RHCP beat or something.

After a quick listen it sounds like he's using rods. Look into ProMark Hotrods or CoolRods.

It sounds harder than it is because of all the ghost notes on both snare and bass drum. Take a look around for some live versions and you'll get a better idea of how Alan White played it. Not that it matters but he always played with his left hand on the hats and his right on the snare. Nearly every Oasis sound he did uses a variation of the same technique. Lots of ghosts notes and triplets. You can achieve a similiar sound with brushes or rods. But, try some live versions where he used sticks.
Yeah live videos always really help me to figure out what exactly the drummer is doing.

Absolutely. Any song I try and learn I see if I can find a live version around somewhere and just listen to the way they play. Really helps me. Gives lots of ideas for variation too.

Correct!
To drumkid12345, I don't know if you practice single or double rolls but practising double stroke rolls RRLLRRLL will make the song much easier as he uses a lot of quiet drags.
