Okay I bought a dvd off ebay and unbeknownst to me it was region 1 where I'm region 4. So no dvd players I've got will play it, but the dvd player on my PC can change to it, but it is irreversable... (apparently)
So does anyone know of a crack or hack or something to get around this?

Probably a pirated copy... but anyway, I use VCL (a program) but I'm not sure if there's a pc version, as I use a Mac
edit: this belongs in the media center

What's the model name of the DVD player? I made mine from Region 2 to multi region after looking around on Google for one in less than 2 minutes.
Just remember to not get the hack of a pay site though, It will be out their for free.

Well it was called Video Games and Movies before, I think it was but can't remember.
Well I use VLC player on my PC which plays everything that doesn't work with my other programs. It can be downloaded here (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/). It's free and has no attatched spy/adware.

Could you buy a Dvd player from let's say USA (I live in Australia) and play Dvd's from that region, therefor getting around the need to wait months before the movies come out in region 4?

That's fine, anything for a fellow MXican.

Yes you could but you'll need a transformer to change the voltage to 240V which can be easily done with a simple adapter I believe. I'm sure you could get a cheap DVD player off ebay or some how and get a transformer from Dick Smith or Harvery Norman.

It'ld be alot easier and cheaper to find the region code crack for your player, or failing that buy a multi-region DVD player.

You can buy a product called DVD X for Playstation 2. It lets you play DVDs from any region. I'm not sure if it works on anything other than PS2 though but at £10 it's worth a try.
