Ok just wondering how you hook a computer up to a tv instead of a monitor...I have seen it done before, and i want to do it because my Laptop has a DVD player on it, but i really dont feel like watching DVD's on my laptop. And if i want to make a back-up incase my DVD's get scratched i can put them on VHS so i can watch them when i go to my girlfriends because her room doesn't have a DVD player...
So does anyone know what i need for it?

A Tv-out video card, then some cables to convert the computer sound output into the regular LA/VA cables, as well as a converter from the big video output to one that fitst into a converter for a LA/VA/V V[ideo] input.
LA/VA/V are those regular RWY cables, and I do not think that is the official name.

S-Video, or the yellow RCA cable. Or you can just get a DVD burner.

Oh right, I forget, newer TV's take S-video, in which case all you would need is a converter into the R-Audio and L-Audio tv inputs from the cpu->speaker output into the tv.
