Doom 1 episode 4?

i never heard anything about episode 4 of doom 1, but when i downloaded the game a while ago, there it was. the thing is though. all the levels are new and pretty hard, but in the screen between levels when it shows your percentage, the backround is the same as episode 1, even when it points to the next level it says the same name that was in doom 1, but when youre in the level the map says a new name for the lever. example: the map points to level 2 and says "nuclear processing" but int he level the map says "level 2: Hell Beneath" has anyone ever heard of episode 4 or does anyone know anything about it? was it supposed to be a secret or somthing?

doom1 is divided into 3 episodes (or apparently 4) then there is doom2, and then final doom witch is divided into plutonia and TNT

ok so that explains where it came from, but were they just too lazy to give it its own backround and everything for in between levels?
