well first i have to say im sorry for double threading someone banned me for clicking on a "spam link" damn i hate those things

second is that the national cultural director offered me a scholarship for berklee college of music. for all that a lot of famous musicians came from there just to name a few bowie, malmsteem (i think), vai, portnoy, petrucci and some others. anywas they want me to record a solo for a 50% discount on tuition and room and board anyone have suggestions to which songs i should play?

i was thinking of anesthesia, classical thump, and fleas bass solo in a woodstock concert.

i has to be at least 7 mins long but not longer than 15 and it can be edited such as compressed e.t.c

write your own, that would impresse them way more. if you can't write music that well berklee really isn't the place for you.

Originality, man! Forget covers, show some improv or something. I don't think they want to hear a bunch of the same covers, you'll just seem like all the other players. Stand out by showing them your own stuff.

Wow...don't give up that easily. Your good at arpeggios and fills? Make a song of arpeggios and use fills while holding the arpeggios? Come up with a nice riff and then play it a few times while improving on it, etc.

A song of one track of bass is a bass solo...so just write a song.
