A very simple goal with this thread. What is the one song that you keep coming back to in terms of one that you learned to play and no matter how your taste and skill in playing has evolved you return to for whatever reason, be it sheer enjoyment or the challenge to play it, it provides you.

Mine would have to be: Skunk Anansie - Charlie Big Potato

Reason: Just a great song that i enjoy playing

The Chicken - Jaco Pastorius

If ever I feel I'm getting wrapped up in the technical side of things I just put this on an remember that it's all about the groove. Either this or The Meters.

Californication - RHCP, I never tire of the main riff and during the prechorus and solo you can do almost anything. I really enjoy playing it, every time.

Schism, I've played it at least once a day since I learned it. Also, The Chicken, I haven't played that one in a while but I used to play it all the time. Learning a Jaco song made me feel like a really good bassist, even if I couldn't quite get all of it right.

Classical Thump...I still haven't mastered it, and its so incredibly hard to play all the way through without bombing at least one part, and I just love the song.

Distant Early Warning, Afterimage and Kid Gloves by Rush. My first Rush songs, and I still love playing them...

But I'm forever playing Rush stuff.

Throw in some Stu hamm stuff there and it's a wrap.

Stir it up-Bob Marley- another easier one thats got a great groove to it. I just close my eyes and..well...groove.

It's just a fun song to play...most of Maiden's stuff is fun as hell to play no matter how challenging or not challenging it is.

I don't have a real "classic," I usually get tired of playing songs over and over and they just fall out of rotation. Lately though, I've been playing A Show of Hands a lot, it's just so fluid and I definately feel accomplished when I play it.
