Is it just me or does this new version of AIM really suck?

Anyways, does anybody know how to get a custom buddy icon loaded into it? It looks like with the Expressions all I can get is the ones they have on there already, I can't figure out how to put on my own.

Also, I'm using Windows XP, and every time I try to install a program it says that it can't open a file for writing. And I can't delete some programs off of the desktop because it says I don't have access. Are both of these problems due to my account not having Administrator rights?

I like that Triton has the sign in screen inside where the buddy list is. Other than that though, I hate it too.

I can't help you with the expression problem now as I'm on a different computer. Maybe tomorrow I can be of more use. I remember not being able to figure that out though too.

I liked the tabbing. Other then that, I think they overdid it.

I haven't even got it yet, and by this thread I doubt I will.

Yes, definetly.

I've been using it for quite some time in it's beta versions. And although I don't IM a lot I find nothing wrong with it. I think it makes it more competitive with MSN and Yahoo. It has some nifty features, as well.

I haven't downloaded a new version of aim since they moved the Info button. I have version 5.2 and Deadaim.

Has anyone used the AOL Explorer browser that comes bundled with the new AIM? Or at least it's an install option, I believe. I've been using that for quite some time, also. It's actually a pretty good browser. It's like having AOL lite. And I appreciate the AIM mail, too.

I've stuck to going to oldversion.com for an older version of AIM and a free version of DeadAIM.

I like it a lot more, actually. I've had no problems with it, and I find it very easy to use. The layout is good, as well.

I like it so far. The tabbed IM boxes are ace. The XM radio feature has potential, but the quality is crappy.

It'd be nice to have a custom icon, but I guess I'm alright with not having any icon at all.

Does anyone know how to uninstall AOL Explorer? I hate it.

I just got AIM and Triton happens to be the one I downloaded. I only have 5 contacts. :upset:
