I have broken two g strings in the past month- what do I do?
Am I using the wrong brand (rotosounds, d'addario elixirs)? Wrong gauge (.45) ? AGHHHHHH! :upset:
Help a brother out....

File down the part that holds the string on the bridge. I had the same problem awhile back.

^ What he said. My old bass used to murder E strings for poops and giggles. The bridge saddle (I think that's the right term) acts as a pair of scissors over the course of a few days/weeks and snips right through the string when it's under tension.

yep, you wanna file down that bridge saddle. So many people chew through hundereds of strings and blame it on all number of things, but if a string is persistantly snapping then the saddle should be the first port of call.
in terms of just strings, try warwick red label..........have had my current set for a while and so far no problems, and i do tend to abuse them quite a bit

So DR's would be better then D'Addarios? I was thinking about getting Dean Markleys but i'm not sure.
