Welp, since there's no Violin section... i thought i would ask my fellow bassist :thumb:

My girlfriend plays violin and piano, but she's a perfectionist and doesn't like to play if it's out of tune, but hasent played long enough to have her ears trained to be able to tune herself...

so, i wanted to get her a tuner for her violin... but, do they need a special tuner? i wouldn't think so but im just checking... she might get a bass for x-mas cause she wants to learn.. she could use it for that too..

would any acoustic tuner work? or no...

suggestion's w/ price?

Ibanez MUIO tuner.. that's one of the best acoustic tuners you could get.. it's chromatic so it tunes to any note.. :)

You're new, so I decided to cut you some slack instead of letting someone else come in and tear you a new asshole. Which I'm suddenly regretting. Fancy that.

Now, sorry for getting off topic. But yeah, I like Yamaha acoustic tuners, personally. They are indeed reliable.

This is the tuner I use right now.

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=bass/search/detail/base_pid/210070/

I've used it to tune my 5 string (gets a bit iffy on the low B), acoustic and electric guitars and a violin. The mic lets it tune pretty much anything. It's not the best tuner around but it gets the job done for cheap.
