Hiya,
Anyone own one of these? Would you recommend it?
As you may see from another post of mine, I'm also considering a Fender Bassman 250/115.
I'm looking for an amp which sounds clear at higher (ie. pub gigging) volumes. I have a very cheap 50 watt amp currently, which actually sounds quite nice at low volume, but sounds terrible as soon as its cranked up.
All feedback would be much appreciated!
TIA

Go for a 2x10 or 4x10

Hey,
Thanks, what makes you suggest that though?

A 1x15 is bassier and the Ashdown gets pretty "boomy" at higher volumes so a 4x10 might help to keep the highs clearer whilst also retaining the low end.

double post edit: MX should upgrade to a better server.

Ok, cheers.
Do you find the 'boomyness' a problem on other 15" speakers or just Ashdown's?
In case anyone is interested in my other thread it's here:

Anyone else got an opinion they'd like to add?
Thanks

the MAG300 head just tends to get a little more bassy at higher volumes and coupled with any 15" it will be pretty boomy.

Will a 10" speaker handle the low B of a 5 string? (I haven't got one, but wouldn't mind trying it in the future), and obviously it's pointless me not buying an amp which isn't suitable!

yeah I run a 2x10 which handles the low B fine and you can always add a 1x15 cab later on anyway.
