I found these strings because i was basically just looking for the heaviest gauge strings from a decent brand, and I was intrigued by these.

Has anyone used black nylon strings for an electric bass, and how were they? Also, do you know how they worked with effects like overdrive?

well, check out the rotosound website, because the say and i quote:

" Super smooth with ultra low tension transforms any electric bass into a jazzy upright sound."

so, if you've ever played an upright bass, you know that the strings have a lower tension and all. If that's what you want, go for it. But if you want thicker guages for roundrounds, check out GHS or another Rotosound swing bass (i think they have 110 i think).

Well they are flatwounds, and ive had bad experiences with Flatwounds and Pedals, they dont sustain very well, so it becomes a problem, when you have a distorted note for .1 second. Thing about distortion is it carries and it flies thru the air, with flatwounds, theres little to no room for that.

In My Experience.
