ok i jus played a show yday.. only my 2nd on stage show, nd the 1st one in which i play real slapping numbers.. however, yday, somehow, i really screwed up my stage setup.. i had virtually no slapping effect, jus a dull thump even with my tone on almost full, nd my bass was too loud which drowned out the rest of the band.. so basically, my bass screwed up the whole show.. so.. im in serious need of help in stage setup.. help nd advice please!! :confused:

if you didn't get your slap tone try new string
also what kind of amp do you use and the size of the speakers

for yday's show, i had a SWR Workingman's 12 bass amp, 100 watts cabinet.. its what the organisers of the show provided.. nd my strings are cool cause ive practiced slapping with them a lot.. in fact, i had a small jam session 2 hrs before i went on stage nd i got perfect results then..

Maybe one of your knobs turned and you didn't know it? I don't know what yday means either.

Yday = Yesterday
I'm guessing you hit a nob and didn't know it. The best thing to do in that situation is to just turn your volume knob a little bit. Always try to do a sound check before you play any songs. Look the amp and the bass over before you play and you should be fine.
Things happen, i've had cords puke out on me mid song. I played on wet ground and started getting electrocuted every time I would touch a certain part of my bass. Etc. It's all about preparing for the "could happens".
